We are thrilled to announce that registrations for the GM Vietnam HackerSpace are now open. This hackathon event, organized by GM Vietnam, highlights and cultivates tech talent to encourage builders to innovate while gaining a highly valuable educational experience.
Introducing GM Vietnam HackerSpace
GM Vietnam HackerSpace is the official hackathon side event of GM Vietnam, which aims to empower and support tech talent from around the world. The 6-week hackathon seeks to educate and inspire builders to innovate around the 5 different tracks we have to offer.
As we leverage this large-scale event, we expect to see builders from regional partners within the Southeast Asian market flock to the hackathon. GM Vietnam HackerSpace presents an excellent opportunity for any developer and builder to establish a greater presence within the Vietnamese web3 builders scene, to strengthen their brand in Vietnam and South East Asia.
Our Track Partners
GM Vietnam HackerSpace offers various tracks to cater to different interests and expertise. Here are tracks that you can choose from:
- Ecosystem Track: Aptos Network
Aptos is the Layer 1 blockchain creating a better user experience for the next digital era. They make developers more efficient, web3 more credible, and support the applications defining culture for years to come. Aptos’ breakthrough technology and programming language, Move, are designed to evolve, improve performance and strengthen web3 safeguards. Aptos will be the Ecosystem Partner of GMVN Hackerspace. Build an application on Aptos Network to join the main track.
- UX/UI: Proximity
Proximity is a research and development firm supporting the NEAR DeFi ecosystem through investments, developer support, open-source software, and advisory services. The Proximity team consists of former members of the NEAR Foundation, Binance, Consensys, Facebook, and more. It has advised numerous DeFi projects contributing to both NEAR and Aurora’s recent success. Hack your Dapp front end with NEAR’s Blockchain Operating System (BOS). It is the easiest way to build and deploy your front end for any EVM chain, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Aurora, and more.
- Real-World Application: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) mission for Web3 and Blockchain is to empower the developers in this space to redefine the Internet by helping them build their solutions with more effective tools and world-class security.
AWS has the broadest and deepest sets of solutions to suit the wide variety of Web3 companies’ infrastructure needs as you scale your business. Beyond technology, we have specialist teams to help you explore potential partnerships, investor connections, and Go-to-Market needs.
Join the Real-World Application Track by building any real-world application, from Layer-1/Layer-2, DeFi, and GameFi to infrastructure tools.
- Innovation: Ava Labs
Avalanche is a smart contracts platform built to scale infinitely and finalize transactions in under a second. Its novel consensus protocol, Subnet infrastructure, and HyperSDK toolkit enable businesses to easily launch powerful, custom blockchain solutions. Build anything you want, any way you want, on the eco-friendly blockchain designed for both Web3 devs and businesses. Participants in the Avalanche track will have free range to decide how they want to build their solution for DeFi, NFTs, gaming, infra/tooling, or any other application.
- Security: GoPlus Security
GoPlus Security is working as the “security infrastructure” for web3 by providing open, permissionless, user-driven security services. GoPlus Security is building on the security data infrastructure and security service platform, making a safer web3 Ecosystem. Build a DApp using GoPlus Security’s API or data pool to dive deeper into the world of user security in trading and digital asset management.
Prizes for the winners of HackerSpace!
Each track offers its own set of rewards, winners in each track will receive prizes as recognition for their outstanding work and contributions. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and stand out in your chosen track.
Here are the prizes for the Ecosystem Track of our main partner – Aptos Network:
- First Place Winner: $4,000
- Second Place Winner: $2,500
- Third Place Winner: $1,500
The remaining Tracks will receive a prize of $3,000 for the best product of each Track.
The Opportunity to receive funding from Newman Capital

Newman Capital will also be offering the chance for the best projects that come through HackerSpace to earn up to $50,000 USD of funding (subject to the discretion and due diligence from Newman Capital).

The selection criteria will be subject to each sponsor and how they plan to judge winners. It will be based on the merit of applications, including innovation, engagement, and adherence to the track sponsor’s judging criteria.
